Jeanette was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York to immigrant parents. Her mom was from Trinidad and her father from Jamaica. She grew up in a home where Caribbean traditions and DIY was life. “We didn’t ask Google anything,” says Jeanette. 

“We asked the elders for advice and homemade remedies, when life got the best of us.”  There was always a family member who kept a recipe or solution that was tested and passed down for generations. As someone who people often look to for solutions or ideas, Jeanette realized her excitement to study herbalism and connect with plants came naturally.

She combined her fascination with plants and herbal studies to create wellness solutions for those seeking holistic alternatives. As she discovered the unique medicinal benefits of each plant and how they work naturally within the body, she realized that plants truly "take action." After two and a half years as a spiritual herbal apprentice, she launched Herbs & Verbs: Plants with Action— a holistic approach to address a range of wellness challenges.
